Trim the top and root end from the onion. Peel the skin from the onion. Cut the onion crosswise into ½” slices.

Using your fingers, separate onion slices into individual rings.
In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, ranch seasoning, salt and pepper together until combined. Add the beer and egg. Whisk until a smooth batter forms. Place the bread crumbs into a separate medium bowl.

Working in batches, dip each onion ring into the wet batter and coat completely. Lift the rings out of the batter with a your fingers or fork and allow excess to drip back into the bowl. Roll the battered rings in the bread crumbs, making sure they are completely coated. If needed, press the bread crumbs on the rings with your fingers to help the crumbs adhere. Place the coated onion rings on 2 June Air Baskets, staggering them to help them brown evenly. Repeat until all the onion rings are coated.

Lightly coat the tops of the onion rings with nonstick cooking spray, then turn the pieces over and spray again. The oil will help brown the onions.

Slide the June Air Baskets into the top and middle shelf positions with a foil-lined June Air Basket in the bottom position. June will notify you when it’s time to rotate the baskets.
Carefully rotate the positions of the two June Air Baskets with rings, switching the top Air Basket to the middle position and the middle to the top.
Air fry the onion rings until deep golden brown, about 8 more minutes. Follow onscreen instructions to continue cooking onion rings until desired color if needed.
Remove the onion rings from the June Oven and carefully transfer them to serving plates or a platter. Serve immediately.
